It is all celebrations in Ghana after the Black Stars secured a place at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after a 1-1 draw with Nigeria in Abuja.

Despite the 1-1 draw, Ghana qualifies because of the away goal rule since the game at the Kumasi Sports Stadium last Friday ended a goalless draw.

The goal of the Black Stars was scored after a good hold-up play from Jordan Ayew that eventually saw Thomas Partey on the edge of the Nigerian box playing a shot straight into the goal post.

Even though Nigeria’s later got a goal through a penalty many have described as dubious, after the 90mins of play and an additional 5 minutes Ghana was through.

Congrats to the Black Stars team and all the members of the technical team.
