Veteran musician, Reggie Rockstone, has talked about the treatment he received from Ghanaians some years ago.

Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, the Grandpapa of Hiplife stated that he was disrespected by his own people.

According to him, the media went along with it following the disrespect from Ghanaians.

He made this remark when answering a question about whether he felt disrespected over some mistakes made in Nigeria’s ‘Afrobeats: The Backstory’ documentary.

“The only people who disrespected me were my people – Ghanaians – and the media went along with it. I was popping off in 1993. But according to the Afro Beats Documentary, I started in 1999 – which is false,” Reggie stated.

On the back of criticisms that Ghanaian creatives are not telling their stories, Reggie Rockstone bemoaned he did not get the needed support for his ‘Living The Hiplife’ documentary.
