Kumawood actor, Yaw Dabo has revealed how Kumasi based football club, Asante Kotoko missed out on Blck Stars player, Afriyie Barnieh.

The player’s call-up to the Black Stars squad for the World Cup enthused a lot of local fans and followers of the Ghana Premier League.

But to Yaw Dabo, it didn’t come as a surprise because they have worked towards it and Barnieh has proven himself overtime at the least opportunity.

Despite the positive reception his call-up and performance in Ghana’s recent friendly against Switzerland has shown, Yaw Dabo who has been with the player for close to four years said it wasn’t an easy journey.

The actor revealed that when they started out, the plan was that Barnieh will play outside Ghana but when that wasn’t working, they started looking inwards.

As a result, he had pre-season training with Kumasi Asante Kotoko but unfortunately they couldn’t sign him.
