The maiden edition of the Outstanding Child Awards was successfully launched with unveiling of categories on Friday, August 13, 2021.

The Outstanding Child Awards seeks to identify and award outstanding children, individuals and institutions in Ghana that have beaten all odds to excel and contribute to children development and growth.

The Outstanding Child Awards is a product of Main Events Ghana, a local event management company that Places premium on children and their cognitive growth.

Alfred Ocansey, an award winning journalist with Media General, officially launched The Outstanding Child Awards and admonished parents not to discourage their wards who exhibit exceptional skills but encourage as them to make use of it as the world needs it.

Speaking at the launch, the Programs Coordinator of Main Events Ghana, Carl Selorm Dovi who represented the programs manager, David Owusu Ansah, stated that, selection of nominees was done by a board using a defined metrics that made sure that every nominee was well deserving of a slot. He further mentioned that the event will involve series of activities that includes; media tours, presentation of citation to all nominees, the award gala and will be climaxed with a donation ceremony.

Mr. Carl Selorm Dovi in his speech encouraged people to visit www.ocasafrica.com on 20th August, 2021 to vote for their favorite nominees as the voting page will be officially opened on that day.

This year’s award categories includes; Educational Institution of the year, Personality Icon in Child Development and Advocacy, Lifelong achievement award, Kid Educative and Entertainment Chanel of the year, Kid of the year among others.

Other children nominated for this year’s awards are DJ Switch, Nakeeyat Dramani Sam, Kerry Koranteng, Righteous Vandyke. Akwadaa Nyame, Abrantie Richmond Antwi Boasiako and Naa Koshie Manyo-Plange among others.

The main award gala will come off on 30th October, 2021 at the Accra International Conference Center.
