Last night, Medikal dropped a dope rap track titled “El Chapo”, which happens to be one of the best I have heard from him.
Moments after the track was realized, it became a topical issue on social media because it sort of gave confirmation to the rumors in the media space that he was no longer with his woman, Fella Makafui since she had supposedly dumped his @$$ for cheating on her.
After listening to the song a few more times while sipping on some chilled bottle of coke, I realized many people, including my good self, had certainly not paid much attention to the introductory lines of Medikal in the song.
It will be recalled that in June last year, Medikal and Strongman gave the Ghana music industry one of the best lyrical beef it had seen in a while. Even though in the end, many social media polls conferred the crown of the victor on the Strong Empire boss.
However, Medikal has in a rather subtle way jabbed Strongman again in his “El Chapo” song.
The AMG Business rapper states in the fourth line of the song that he destroys careers and also resurrects others.
He adds in the fifth line that this year he is not going to respond to any beef that will help any literal dead rapper to come back to life and only blow his or horns anyhow.
To wit, Medikal is trying to tell Strongman and any other rapper who will decide to ride off his assumed popularity to make a few chicken change this year that it will not work because he is too busy.
It is no secret that Strongman is by far one of the greatest rappers in Ghana, however, the beef he had with Medikal is what made many people see the sort of great rapper he is, despite the fact that he had just left Sarkodie’s Sarkcess Music record label before the beef.
Whatever Medikal decided to achieve with those lines we don’t really know, but we just hope it is not to start another lyrical beef with Strongman because we all know how the first one ended.
Anyway, check out the song below and tell us what you think about those lines.
