The award-winning musician disclosed that her emotional well-being has a profound impact on her creativity and as a result, she chose to retreat from the public eye and put her music career on hold rather than confront her emotional pain through her art.
She said; “My heart was broken”,
“I was heartbroken that I didn’t want to sing. You know I’m a baby girl so the way I feel matters to me a lot and it wasn’t something I wanted to deal with at that time.
She continued: “Also, I’ve been working for 15 years without break and in between these times I’ve been performing on all the shows and still representing. And I think I gave everyone their feature,” she concluded.
Efya’s decision to prioritize her emotional health is commendable, and it sheds light on the importance of mental health in the entertainment industry.
It’s not uncommon for artists to struggle with emotional and mental issues that can affect their creativity and output.
