Ghanaian musician, King Promise achieved a greater feat yesterday after his ‘As Promised’ album clocked 24 million streams on the online streaming platform—Spotify.
Following his record, a communication member for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sadiq Abdulai Abu has tried to score political points from the development.
Sadiq took on his political opponent, Socrate Safo from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after he claimed in a recent interview on Happy FM that selling CDs has a bigger market than these digital stores.

Socrate advised musicians not to focus on digital stores because they can make more money by selling their CDs offline.
Rebutting to his assertion in a post sighted by Zionfelix.net, Sadiq shared a post about King Promise’s 24 million streams on Spotify to make a counter-argument.
He asked Socrate Safo whether any Ghanaian musician has been able to sell 24 million Compact discs (CDs).

Sadiq wrote on Facebook: “Using Socrates Safo analogy to support his “it’s profitable to sell CDs than digital streams” let me find out which talent in the history of Ghana ever sold 24 million CDs in their lifetime?
