Shatta Wale

If just like me, you ever wondered what the name ‘Shatta Wale‘ of the self-acclaimed dancehall king in the country really means, then you are in luck today as the musician has finally given out the meaning of his name in an in an interview on Joy FM.

In an interview with Daniel Dadzie on Joy FM’s the Super Morning Show, the ‘Gringo‘ hitmaker stated that his Shatta simply means a ‘SERIOUS PERSON’. He added that the WALE is an abbreviation which means “World Acclaimed Lyrical Entertainer.”

Shatta Wale as he has become affectionately known was born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr. on October 17, 1984, to parents Mr. Charles Nii Armah Mensah Snr and wife in the capital city of Ghana.
