The criticisms of Ghanaian DJs for supposedly playing more Nigerian songs on radio and during parties and the growing calls on them to play more Ghanaian songs during the Christmas festivities have finally received a reply from award-winning radio presenter and DJ, Andy Dosty.
According to the host of Hitz FM prime entertainment review show, the continuous criticisms of Ghanaian DJ by people who don’t appreciate the efforts they have put in to get the music where it is today is very sickening.
Speaking on the headlines segment of his show on Tuesday, December 17, he stated: “It is so sad and sickening that people sit on social media, thinking they are all-knowing but [are] shallow-minded…”
He also added that ironically most of the people who accuse Ghanaian DJs of being saboteurs of the music industry are the ones who proudly dance to Nigerian music the slightest chance they get.
“You sit there complaining that we don’t play Ghanaian songs… At least, give us some credit. We’ve done well. In times past, we were even shy to play Ghanaian songs. A few years ago, Nigerian songs were all over but now, we are doing well. Enough!” Andy Dosty added.
The “Love You Die” hitmaker’s comment comes on the back of DKB’s campaign to have Ghanaian songs played to commemorate the Year of Return.
