According to Wayoosi, whose political journey dates back to the early 2000s, he was unwavering in his allegiance and was willing to stand by the party at any given time.

However, his stance shifted due to a series of events, primarily involving his interaction with NAPO.

He told Zionfelix on the Uncut Show that in 2008, some approached him from the camp od NAPO, who at the time sought his assistance in persuading difficult delegates within the Manhyia South constituency.

Wayoosi added that leveraging on his popularity as an actor, he stepped up to the task, aiding the current Member of Parliament for Manhyia South in winning both the primaries and eventually securing the MP seat.

Despite his initial enthusiasm and dedication, Wayoosi expressed profound disappointment in the aftermath.

He revealed that since NAPO assumed office as MP, not once has he been able to communicate directly with him for more than 30 seconds.

The popular actor added that Every attempt to reach out has been met with excuses, with NAPO citing constant engagements and meetings.

For Wayoosi, this neglect and lack of communication amounted to betrayal.

He stressed that he felt used and discarded after having played a pivotal role in NAPO’s political success and as such, he stopped supporting the political party.

Ahead of the 2024 general election, Wayoosi has announced his intention to cast his vote for the former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama.

For him, this endorsement simply shows a desire to see a change in leadership and a return to what he perceives as a more responsive and accountable governance.
