Ghanaian singer and songwriter, Akwaboah has broken his silence following his inability to win an award at the 2020 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

During an interview with Happy FM, the renowned songwriter stated that he cannot give the right answers to why his efforts are not being recognized locally.

Akwaboah was resolute that winning an award is not his main aim.

According to him, serving his fans with well-crafted songs is his topmost priority.

“When I organize shows, you know the number of people who come so I can’t be defined by the fact that an award show has been organized and I didn’t win any award. The organizers sat down and decided how they want their event to go so I’m not bothered,” he stated.

Akwaboah added: “If it comes, that’s fine. If it doesn’t, I am still Akwaboah.”
