Prophet Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Kumchacha, has opened up about the devastating impact of the recent floods on his church in Mallam, appealing to the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) for immediate assistance.
The founder and leader of Heaven’s Gate Ministries revealed in a video shared on his social media pages on June 29, 2026, that he received distressing news after waking up to find that floodwaters had taken over the church premises.
He disclosed that the situation had caused significant damage to the building, with a section of the church reportedly collapsing due to the severity of the flooding.
The preacher said the incident had left him emotionally shaken and requested prayers from his supporters as he comes to terms with the destruction.
“I woke up this morning with a heavy heart. I didn’t wake up with good news and I’ve been affected badly. I need prayers from my loved ones because it’s not easy on my side,” he said.

Sharing more details about the extent of the damage, Kumchacha explained that the floodwater inside the church had reached a level that made movement within the premises almost impossible.
“The rain has caused flooding in my church at Mallam. Part of the building has collapsed and the floodwater would get to your waist level when you’re standing in it,” he lamented.
The pastor also spoke about the broader effect of the flooding in surrounding communities, claiming that two residents had reportedly lost their lives, although the information has not been independently confirmed.
He further described the situation in other parts of Accra, revealing that he was stranded in East Legon because floodwaters had affected roads and major routes.
“It’s alleged that two people had died in the neighbourhood. I’m in East Legon right now and the whole place is also flooded. The floodwater has covered the big bridge to the extent that we can’t even see it. No cars can pass through the flood because most cars were also washed away,” he stated.
According to Kumchacha, the flooding also created serious challenges for commuters, particularly those travelling along the Kasoa road, where many motorists were reportedly trapped for hours.
“People have been stuck in traffic for six to seven hours on the Kasoa road. No cars are moving to enable them to get to their destinations,” he indicated.
The preacher called on NADMO officials to visit the affected church location, assess the destruction and provide the necessary support to help address the damage.
“It has not been easy for me this morning. My church has now turned into a sea. NADMO should kindly check my church for me. It’s around the Mallam station,” he appealed.
Kumchacha also urged the public to avoid unnecessary movement during the flooding, encouraging residents to remain indoors until conditions improve.
“If you’ve not stepped out yet, don’t think of going anywhere. Everyone should stay safe and remain in your homes. Your life is more important than anything,” Prophet Kumchacha advised.
