Veteran Ghanaian actor, Alex Kofi Adu, popularly known as Agya Koo, has opened up about his lifestyle when it comes to keeping friends.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Kwame Adjei Bohyen on Angel FM in Kumasi, Agya Koo stated that he has always been more comfortable alone than in the company of others, a trait that has followed him since childhood.

He admitted that the only person he ever regarded as a true friend was fellow actor Akrobeto, with whom he shared a close bond during their early years in the movie industry.

Although their friendship has grown distant over time, Agya Koo said Akrobeto still reaches out occasionally to check in and have conversations about life.

“Since I was young, I’ve never really had a friend and I do not have any friend. The only person I ever considered a friend, someone I could visit, eat with, and share things like clothes and time with, was Akrobeto. But as life would have it, we don’t meet as often anymore.

“Still, he makes the effort to check on me, and we talk about many things. Honestly, I don’t know how to build friendships or how people just sit around and chat. I’ve never known how that’s done,” he said.

Agya Koo also talked about his reserved nature within the movie industry, saying he often keeps to himself on set and avoids social gatherings with colleagues once filming ends.

According to him, he rarely leaves his home and spends most of his time indoors, describing himself as someone who has grown accustomed to isolation.

He added that he barely even goes outside to “see how the sun looks like,” emphasizing his preference for solitude over social interactions.
