Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur, Rosemond Alade Brown, widely known as Akuapem Poloo, has opened up about the unconventional path she took to achieve recognition and financial success in the entertainment industry.
In an interview on Joy Prime, Poloo candidly reflected on her early struggles and the lengths she went to in order to make her mark. According to her, she resorted to high-risk strategies simply to be noticed after years of feeling invisible in the spotlight.
“At first, I was paying to be insulted for a year because I really wanted the recognition. I’ve been in the industry and no one calls or recognised me, but after the controversy, people were calling me for interviews and skincare deals,” she revealed.

She shared that one of the breakthrough moments in her hustle was when Fameye paid her GH₵5000 to twerk in one of his music videos, a move that not only paid off financially but also fueled her growing notoriety.
“Even artistes would reach out to me to dance and twerk on their songs and I was getting paid. Even Fameye was giving me GH₵5000 to twerk on his songs,” she added.
Poloo admitted that while her methods raised eyebrows, they ultimately earned her visibility, opportunities, and endorsement deals, validating her belief that being bold was the only way forward in a competitive industry.
