Ohemaa Afia Kobi, the daughter of the Asantehene and known in private life as Dr. Caryn Agyemang Prempeh, has drawn widespread public sympathy after a video of her weeping inconsolably at the funeral of the late Asantehemaa went viral.

The 14th Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, passed away at the age of 98 on August 7, 2025.

She was the biological sister of the current Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and served as Queenmother for eight years.

Her final funeral rites began on September 14, and her burial has been scheduled for Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Royal Mausoleum in Breman.
