As the prices of foodstuffs are climbing up everyday, major local dishes are not being left out.
One local dish that a lot of Ghanaians patronise a lot is waakye (boiled beans and rice) taken with stew and shito.
That too has seen a significant increase in prices across joints in Accra, in some cases, a 100% increment.
Some of the joints have posted written warnings on their stalls informing customers of the increment.
Ordinary people are not the only ones feeling the pressure right now.
TV3 journalist, Berla Mundi has expressed shock at the new prices in a tweet.
The morning show host could simply not wrap her head around how a ladle of waakye is selling for GH¢7.00 in this economy.
