The new host for season five of TV3’s ‘Date Rush’ show, Giovani Caleb has made a public statement following all the headlines his name has made in the last few hours.

A lot of the folks online have taken TV3 on following their decision to dump the host of the previous season of ‘Date Rush’, Nii Kpakpo Thompson, and replace him with one of their own, Giovani Caleb.

Some of the lovers of the show went as far as creating hashtags like “NoNiiNoDateRush” on various media platforms, especially Twitter as a way of telling TV3 they wanted Nii Kpakpo and not Giovani Caleb.

Well, in the wake of the widespread disapproval, Giovani took to his Instagram page to make that public statement.

Sharing a nice photo of himself, Giovani added the caption: ”Excited about getting back to work this week. Are you ready for the year? I know this year is going to be tougher but God will come through for his people. Keep the hope alive.”

It is pretty obvious that Giovani is ready for all the tasks this new year will bring, including that of hosting ‘Date Rush’ and personally I believe he will equally do a good job.
