Ghanaian gospel musician, Vida Afriyie has revealed what she went through in Saudi Arabia.

Her quest to seek a greener pasture outside the shores of the country landed her in a difficult situation.

Narrating her ordeal in an interview with ZionFelix on the ‘Uncut’ Show, Vida said hardship forced her to travel to Saudi Arabia some years ago.

Though she paid nothing before travelling, she believed the agents were given half of the salary she was earning.

According to her, she developed an interest in travelling after she was promised a juicy salary of GHS 1,000 about five years ago.

She recalled her passport was seized after she landed in Saudi Arabia.

Working daily in a big house, the gospel musician stated that her workload was very tedious—and she realized she deserved more than the salary given to her.

Cooking more than ten times a day, washing, scrubbing and nanny roles were some of the duties she performed for long hours on a daily routine.

Sadly, Vida Afriyie said there are some times she worked on an empty stomach and even when the food was ready; sometimes they refused to give her some of the food.

Leftover foods were given to her to eat but after rejecting it on several occasions, the wife of her boss told her to prepare a local Ghanaian dish of her choice along the line.

It got to a time she fall sick after they gave her an injection when she arrived in the country. She reminisced losing weight, and sweat profusely even when there was an air-condition switched on.

The gospel musician had the feeling of returning to Ghana but her superiors were not happy about her decision. She parked her belongings and stay around the compound of the house. Her boss threatening to call the police did not scare her.

She disclosed that the Saudi-agent was called into the scene but she insisted that she wants to come back to Ghana for medical care. After back and forth for some time, her boss agreed to let her go—but the ‘Madam’ of the house searched her before they allowed her to go with the agent.

The Saudi-agent then took her to his house and assured her that he would look for a different job that would be less stressful for her. Unfortunately, the agent had a bad intention as he asked her to su*k his di*k but she declined to do so. Her denial led to the agent hating her for the rest of her days in his house.

Vida Afriyie revealed how a Senegalese she met on the internet helped her to get her freedom from these people.

She is currently working on her new song titled ‘Eye Adom Bi’ which featured Patience Nyarko.
