Ghanaian politician and former National Security operative, Hopeson Yaovi Adorye, has stirred social media chatter after proudly showcasing a set of Father’s Day gifts he received from his wife, gospel singer Empress Gifty.

In a trending video shared across platforms, Adorye is seen inside his plush residence, beaming with joy as he unboxes several items his wife brought back from her recent trip to Paris.

Among the gifts were a pair of black business casual shoes, which Adorye enthusiastically claimed were from the renowned fashion house Zara, a brand often associated with accessible luxury.

“Zara! My wife knows the good stuff,” he said gleefully, as he held up the shoes for the camera.

He also flaunted several Ralph Lauren Polo shirts and high-end diffusers, all of which he described as thoughtful additions from Empress Gifty in celebration of Father’s Day.

While some fans praised the romantic gesture and applauded Empress Gifty for honoring her husband, others took to social media to poke fun at the footwear, with many accusing the politician of unknowingly flaunting knock-off Zara shoes often sold in street markets abroad.

“That Zara looks like it came from Lapaz, not Paris,” one X user joked.
