In a recent interview, legendary Ghanaian musician Reggie Rockstone described the current crop of Ghanaian musicians as people who are having it tough.

Speaking with Nana Romeo of Accra FM on Thursday, October 6, 2022, the Hiplife Grandpapa said that at the time he and other musicians in the 90s were at their peak, the same could not have been said.

According to him, in this era, the attention a musician will be getting for a good song can just die down in a flash simply because there was a leaked sekztape.

He disclosed that because there are a lot of talents who are all doing great, there are a lot of quality songs released day in and day out.

“This time [in music], the young ones have it really tough. It’s like a fast food [business], the moment you leave, someone is in. It’s been crazy! The speed at which they come,” he said.

The Rockz Waakye boss also added that another person can simple release a simple sekztape and all the attention one’s song is enjoying will be literally killed.

“Romeo, you can release a song today and someone will release a sex.tape, that’s the end of your single,” he noted with concern. A fight can come up on social media the very day you release your single, the audience will all go watch that rather. The attention span is so short,” Reggie stated.
