A viral video spotted by zionfelix.net has shown a shocking scene of a pot of cooked beans, known in local parlance as ‘gob3’, being transported with a canoe reportedly in Weija.

Commuting within the Weija community has been disrupted for the past few days due to the overflow of the Weija Dam.

Despite the disaster, residents of the area had to eat and this is made evident in the resilience of a young man captured in a video canoeing a pot of ‘gob3’ to serve customers.

Scores of residents in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region were displaced with several others trapped in their homes as Ashalaja, Weija, Oblogo and Tetegu areas got flooded.

The residents have described it as a crisis situation as many homes have nearly been submerged.

Some have had to use canoes to avoid drowning. They describe the situation as a crisis.
