The legal representatives of Ghanaian politician and philanthropist, Honourable Ohene Kwame Frimpong, have issued a formal letter to GhanaWeb demanding the immediate retraction of a publication they describe as false, malicious, and damaging to his reputation.
In the letter, dated September 8, 2025, and signed by Elvis Alu-Ameyaw of NexLaw Attorneys, the lawyers stated that GhanaWeb had published a story suggesting that Hon. Frimpong, who serves as the Member of Parliament for Asante Akim North, was currently undergoing trial outside the country.
They stated that there are no pending legal proceedings, whether civil or criminal against the CEO of Salt Media either in Ghana or other the country.
The lawyers argued that the fabricated publication had the potential to injure the MP’s reputation, stir disaffection among his constituents, and put his parliamentary seat at risk.
They therefore demanded that GhanaWeb immediately retract the story from all platforms and desist from publishing any further spurious, unverified and false allegations against the MP.
The letter mentioned that GhanaWeb has been given a 24-hour ultimatum to comply with the demands or be ready to face the law.
