For years, some Ghanaian artistes have accused Sarkodie of dodging calls and declining collaborations. But gospel star Obaapa Christy tells a very different story, one of quick responses and smooth teamwork.
Speaking with Nana Romeo on Okay FM, the award-winning singer recounted how effortlessly she secured Sarkodie’s feature on her latest single, Odeneho.
“After recording the song in the studio, I said to myself that I would need King Sark on the song. Fortunately for me, the music producer left some gaps in between the songs, so I took it home and called Sarkodie on WhatsApp because I was in Germany,” she said.

To her surprise, the rapper answered immediately. “When he picked up the call, he asked me to send the song, and that was when he told me I would hear from him very soon.”
Unlike others who claim to have been ignored, Christy said Sarkodie was ready and willing to jump in. She revealed that he had already written his part before she reached out. “He told me that it won’t take long and that he would send the song back to me. True be told, it didn’t last long.”
The collaboration came together faster than she expected. “When Sark sent the song, he told me that he already had the lyric and was waiting for the perfect time to send it. He said that this is the perfect time. After that, I became so relaxed.”
