Popular Ghanaian Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, has thrown his weight behind the current administration. He urged Ghanaian youth to rally behind President John Dramani Mahama’s government.

Wale is convinced the leadership has the tools and vision to deliver real progress and financial empowerment for young people across the country.

Performing at the 2025 GHALCA President’s Cup on Sunday, July 6, at the Accra Sports Stadium, the outspoken musician took a moment during his high-energy set to share a message of political encouragement. Addressing the youth directly, he made a passionate call for them to align with the government’s development agenda.

“From now till the next election support this government. If you are a youth and you want to see money in your pocket then support this government because it has come to put money in your pocket,” he said.

Apart from his performance, Shatta Wale extended his message of gratitude and support through a post on Facebook later that evening. In it, he praised the President’s leadership and his commitment to youth empowerment.

“The man who rewards your hard work with a smile and can also terminate your contract if you don’t deliver. Good evening Mr. President. We’re grateful for your commitment to empowering the youth and making us part of your vision,” he wrote.

He went on to thank both the President and the Ministry of Youth and Sports for including his fanbase and brand in the celebration. “Thanks to the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama for this great honor and to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for making the Shatta Movement Empire/Gaza being part of this historic celebration,” the post added.

The 2025 President’s Cup was not only a musical spectacle but also a football thriller. With President Mahama in attendance, Kumasi Asante Kotoko staged a dramatic comeback to defeat Accra Hearts of Oak 2-1 in a match that lived up to the intensity of Ghana’s most talked-about football rivalry.
