Ghanaian music star Amerado has revealed how radio personality DJ Slim lured him into a beef with colleague rapper Medikal.

The rapper made the revelation during an interview with NY DJ on BTM Afrika.

According to the rapper, the infamous beef stemmed from an existing banter between DJ Slim and Medikal. Amerado explained that he was essentially “called to action” by the radio presenter.

“My beef with Medikal stemmed from a banter he had with DJ Slim. Slim called me to action, and I heeded. At the time, I was just lazing about, so I recorded ‘Medikated Soap,’ he said.

Amerado admitted that he sometimes regrets the actions but now considers it a learning curve.
“At some point after the release, I felt bad about it, but in music, you don’t count your regrets, so I just brushed over it,” he stated.

He further clarified that he holds Medikal in high regard, despite a recent incident where the ‘Stubborn Academy’ boss allegedly disrespected his mother.

“Medikal had never wronged me before, until recently, when he used some derogatory words directed at my mum, which got me angry, but even with that, I have not dissed him. I respect him.”

Following the successful release of his rap tape, Against All Odds, Amerado has followed up with a 4-track highlife EP, Defy All Odds. He is also expected to release a reggae EP in November 2025.
