The final funeral rites of Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur Beverly Afaglo Baah is taking place today, Saturday, August 8, 2026, as family, friends, colleagues and loved ones have gathered at the forecourt of the State House in Accra to pay their final respects to the late actress.
Beverly Afaglo, who was 42 years old at the time of her death, passed away on May 24, 2026, after battling cancer for two years.
Her death came just days before her 43rd birthday and sent shockwaves through Ghana’s entertainment industry.
Today’s funeral ceremony reportedly began at 7:00 a.m., and has brought together mourners from different walks of life to honour the actress and celebrate the legacy she leaves behind.
One of the most heartbreaking moments at the funeral is the appearance of Beverly Afaglo’s husband, musician Eugene Baah aka Praye Honeho and daughter, who are visibly overcome with emotion as they bid their final farewell to their beloved wife and mother.
In a very sad scene captured at the ceremony, the husband and daughter approach the remains of the late actress to present their final flowers to her.
The moment showed how it was particularly difficult for Beverly’s daughter, who broke down in tears after placing her flowers in honour of her late mother.
Unable to hold back her emotions, she was seen grieving deeply as the reality of the loss appears to weigh heavily on her.
Her father was also visibly teary during the emotional moment. Despite his own grief, he eventually gathered himself to console his daughter.
As a show of fatherly support, Beverly Afaglo’s husband embraced and comforted their daughter before taking her away from the scene, as the emotional farewell continues.
After the funeral service, the late actress is scheduled to be laid to rest in a private burial ceremony.
A thanksgiving service is also scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, August 9, at Action Chapel International in Tema.
