Following King Promise’s big win as Artiste of the Year at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), fellow nominee Stonebwoy took to X (formerly Twitter) to offer his congratulations.
However, King Promise is yet to publicly acknowledge the gesture.

His long silence on the post came up during an interview on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz when he was hosted by DJ Slim and Doreen Avio.
Per the response of King Promise,
it seems unlikely that he will reply to Stonebwoy’s message.
According to the “Paris” hitmaker, even though he had heard about the message but hadn’t seen it himself. “I’ve been told of it, I have actually. Haven’t been on Twitter today. I don’t think it’s a big deal, I’ve received the congratulations. I don’t want to talk about it, I don’t really think it’s anything to speak about,” he said.
Stonebwoy’s original message on X read: “Congratulations @IamKingPromise on your win and your debut entry into the league of AOTY winners. You’re Welcome.”
Apart from King Promise’s lack of interest to respond, the message from Stonebwoy has also sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans interpreting the tone as condescending.
Others also speculate that King Promise’s silence may be intentional, that is a subtle payback for a similar incident in 2024.
At that time, after Stonebwoy was crowned Artiste of the Year, King Promise congratulated him via the same platform, but Stonebwoy never acknowledged the message.
In 2025, King Promise clinched the coveted Artiste of the Year award, overcoming tough competition from Stonebwoy, King Paluta, Joe Mettle, Black Sherif, Team Eternity, and Kwaku Smoke. He also won Afropop Song of the Year with Paris, Best Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste of the Year, and Album of the Year with True to Self.
