Ghanaian YouTuber and philanthropist, Wode Maya, has donated an amount of GH₵30,000 to a young man who recently went viral for expressing suicidal thoughts after losing his business capital to a scam.
The presentation took place on Friday, August 3, 2025, when Wode Maya invited the young man, identified as Mohammed, to meet him in person.
During the brief meeting, Wode Maya handed over a cheque and cash totalling GH₵30,000 to Mohammed and encouraged him to use the money wisely.
“I want you to invest this wisely. The next time we speak, I want us to talk about your success story,” Wode Maya told him during the handover.
Mohammed had earlier taken to X (formerly Twitter) with a heartbreaking post hinting at ending his life after losing over GH₵30,000 in a failed cattle farming venture. His post read: “Suicide might be my only option now. I have no one to explain what I am going through. I am too young but may Allah forgive me for whatever it is.”
Further revelations from social media users indicated that Mohammed had been scammed while trying to establish the business and was under intense pressure and threats from former associates.
