With the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards drawing closer, Wendy Shay is making her stance on the Artiste of the Year race unmistakably clear.
The singer used X on April 9, 2026, to assert her claim to the top prize, pointing to what she believes has been a strong year of work. She also took a moment to recognise the backing she continues to receive from industry players and her fanbase.
“I know everyone is aware that this year’s TGMA Artiste of the Year is me. Thanks to Ghana, SHAYGANG, media personalities, and all the artistes showing me love and advocating for me to win,” she said.
Aside from her declaration, she is casting a wider net for support, appealing to the loyal followings behind some of Ghana’s biggest names to throw their weight behind her campaign.

“I urge fans of SM, Bhim Nation, Sark Nation, BYK, the Blacko Tribe, and every other fanbase to vote massively for me,” she added.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for May 9, 2026.
Wendy Shay faces stiff competition in the category, with Stonebwoy, Black Sherif, and Sarkodie all in contention, setting the stage for a closely fought contest on the night.
