In recent times, Ghanaian event organisers living abroad have voiced frustrations over what they describe as excessive fees charged by local artistes for performances. They argue that the high costs leave them with little to no profit and believe artistes should be more considerate.

Addressing these concerns in an interview with ZionFelix, Amerado urged the organisers to also reflect on how they treat artistes in return.

He highlighted instances of poor treatment, revealing that some organisers fail to honour payment agreements after booking artistes for shows outside Ghana.

“There are organisers who don’t even pay us after reaching an agreement,” Amerado pointed out, adding that in the early days of his career, he often performed internationally without receiving a dime.

While critics claim that Ghanaian musicians overcharge for international gigs, the “Abronoma” hitmaker clarified that fees are not always excessive. He cited cases where he accepted as little as £300, depending on his relationship with the organisers.

Ultimately, Amerado called for honest dialogue and mutual understanding between artistes in Ghana and promoters abroad to bridge the disconnect and ensure fair treatment for both sides.
