The winners of the 2017 edition of People Celebrity Awards have finally taken their prize packages.
Prior to the main event which happened on December 30, 2017, at the Accra International Conference Center, organisers announced that winners for each category of the awards will receive a prize package worth ¢6,500 while the Lifetime Achievement Award recipient will receive a package worth ¢10,000.
The ultimate award-winner, Shatta Wale was promised a brand new Dodge Charger Sedan worth $65,000.
Winners for each category received Gh 2000 cash and a TV set at a special event held on Wednesday, February 28 in Accra. Zionfelix.net heard many industry players at the event questioning why organisers promised Gh6500 but have given Gh2000 cash and a TV set to the winners.
Clarifying the issue to Zionfelix.net, Chris Koney, communicator for the awards told Zionfelix.net that Sypderlee Entertainment, organisers of the awards did not promise GH6500 cash but a prize package to the tune of Gh 6500. He added that the TV set and Gh2000 sum up to the Gh 6500 prize package so there is no cause for alarm.
Dancehall musician Shatta Wale on the night of the prize presentation also received a branded Dodge Charger car estimated to be around $65000 – that is according to the organisers.
