Ghanaian prestigious comic,Clement Ashiteye popularly known as Clemento Suarez has revealed that the support and backing for the comedy business is gradually picking up in light of the fact that individuals didn’t have faith in their specialty or brand from the beginning.

“Presently the support for the comedy industry is greater than previously. A few of us have been in the business for at some point now. We used to have low participation at our comedy shows since individuals didn’t have confidence in our image.”

Talking in a celebrity interview with Amansan Krakye on GBC Radio Central, Clemento Suarez affirmed that because of the huge patronage by individuals and corporate entities, comedians in Ghana now sign endorsement deals.

“In any case, for as long as 3 to 4 years now, we’ve begun getting that huge help and we’re ready to receive some cash in return. These days corporate substances additionally draw in our administrations for shows that is the reason we do get endorsement deals too.”


The award winning comedian, however called for a more concerted effort to ensure that the Ghana comedy industry is well-positioned to get to the standards being set by those in Nigeria and abroad.

“We’re trusting it gets greater like what’s going on in Nigeria and other far off nations. We pray and work hard to get there someday.”
