Ghanaian comedian and actor Dr. Likee has disclosed that he played a key role behind the scenes in the creation of one of Ghana’s popular songs, “Kakai,” performed by dancehall star Shatta Wale.

Speaking in an interview on DayBreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Dr. Likee revealed that he was the brain behind the writing of the widely celebrated track.

According to him, “Kakai” became a hit largely because of its relatable concept, which resonated strongly with listeners.

Despite his success in comedy and acting, Dr. Likee indicated that he possesses strong musical abilities but has deliberately chosen not to pursue a public career in music.

Instead, he has focused on contributing quietly as a songwriter within the industry.

The comic actor further disclosed that “Kakai” is not the only song he has written for Shatta Wale. He noted that he has penned about three songs for the award-winning artiste.

Beyond that, Dr. Likee stated that he has written numerous songs for other musicians in Ghana, although much of his work has remained uncredited and out of the spotlight.
