Fella Makafui says she nearly turned down the role that introduced her to a wider audience and helped shape her career.

Revisiting that turning point, the actress shared throwback images from her early days on set, alongside a candid reflection on how she landed the role of Serwaa in YOLO, a character that would go on to shape her career trajectory.

“11 years ago, I almost rejected a role that would later become part of my identity, Serwaa,” she wrote.

She explained that, at the time, the significance of the role was not obvious. What initially felt like just another decision would eventually influence both her personal growth and professional direction.

Her reflection follows the path from uncertainty to progress, capturing moments of doubt, persistence, and gradual transformation. Through it all, she remained committed to her ambitions, even when clarity was out of reach.

“Looking back, I see growth. I see resilience. I see a woman who refused to give up even when things were uncertain,” she added.

Makafui also acknowledged the discipline and sacrifices behind her journey, noting that every stage, whether challenging or rewarding, contributed to her present position.

With her eyes now set on the future, she expressed appreciation for how far she has come and optimism about what lies ahead, while urging young people not to allow their beginnings to limit their dreams.
