Kuami Eugene has disclosed a humorous story from the early days of his musical success, one involving his very first car, a dose of youthful pride, and a trip to his ex-girlfriend’s neighborhood.

Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime, shared via X on July 17, 2025, the singer, born Eugene Kwame Marfo, recounted the excitement that came with purchasing his first vehicle. His first instinct, he said, was to visit his mother in Fadama, a touching moment of gratitude after moving out when he signed with Lynx Entertainment.

“The funny thing is, after purchasing my first car, the first place I drove to was to inform my mom in Fadama, because I had moved out after Lynx Entertainment signed me. I went home and showed her the car, and she was excited,” he said.

But what followed was a more mischievous move. According to Kuami Eugene, he couldn’t resist the temptation to show off a little, particularly in front of someone from his past.

“After that, I told my mom to wait for me. Her (my ex’s) mom had a salon at Darkuman, so I drove straight there just to blow the horn and cause a little commotion. She wasn’t around, but I met her mom.”

Though the act was lighthearted, Kuami Eugene used the story to share a deeper message about patience and belief in the people we love. Looking back, he reflected on how far he had come and what such moments can teach us.

“I’ve always remembered that moment, even though we had both moved on. Sometimes people should just give their partners time, because they can surprise you with how far they’ll go,” Eugene stated.
