Kofi Adomah Shares Heartening Recovery Update After Near-Blinding Attack

Renowned Ghanaian journalist and broadcaster, Kofi Adomah Nwanwani, has shared an uplifting update on his ongoing recovery following the traumatic shooting incident that nearly cost him his sight.

The beloved Angel FM presenter, who has maintained a relatively low profile since the attack in Dormaa, took to his official TikTok page to post a calming video of himself spending quiet time alone in a scenic park in the United States.

The serene clip shows him seated peacefully as the sun sets in the background—a moment many fans interpreted as symbolic of hope, healing, and resilience.

Wearing a zip-up flannel jacket layered over a colourful shirt, paired with trousers and dark sunglasses, Kofi Adomah exuded quiet strength.

Later in the video, he walked away unaided, a sight that has sparked widespread relief and joy among his followers, especially as he continues to recover without the company of his wife, Mrs Miracle Adoma, who has been a strong pillar throughout his ordeal.

Just days before the video was posted, Kofi Adomah broke his months-long silence in an interview with YouTuber and close confidant Magraheb on Kofi TV.

In the emotional conversation, the seasoned journalist disclosed that his eyesight has been “almost fully restored” after multiple surgeries.

He detailed the aftermath of the vicious attack, revealing how he regularly woke up with a swollen face, unbearable pain in his jaw, and intense body aches.

“The pain at the back of my head was so severe that I was advised not to chew meat,” he revealed. “But thankfully, that pain has subsided significantly.”

In recounting the support he received, Kofi Adomah extended heartfelt gratitude to Ghanaian business mogul Ibrahim Mahama, whom he described as a key figure in his recovery journey. “He reached out to me just days after the attack and personally funded several surgeries,” Kofi revealed.

The broadcaster also thanked his employer, Dr Kwaku Oteng, CEO of Angel Broadcasting Network, for his unwavering support during his darkest moments.

“Your love and support gave me strength,” he said, also acknowledging the countless Ghanaians who prayed, called, and encouraged him.

“It Was My Anointing”: Nana Agradaa Takes Credit for Chairman Wontumi’s EOCO Release

Controversial cleric and self-styled spiritual prophetess, Nana Agradaa, has taken center stage in the aftermath of Chairman Wontumi’s release from the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, was reportedly released by EOCO on June 2, 2025.

While details surrounding his brief detention remain unclear, Agradaa whose real name is Patricia Asiedua, has claimed spiritual credit for his freedom.

In a livestream on her TikTok account, the leader of Heaven Way Chapel International boldly told her viewers that it was her “anointing” that led to Wontumi’s release, not legal processes or political influence.

“Please, I am not the one who bailed him. It is my anointing that resulted in his release. It was my favour that released him. That is all,” she said.

Agradaa explained that earlier that day, she had visited the EOCO headquarters in Accra and declared that her mere presence and spiritual aura influenced the environment, leading to Wontumi’s freedom.

“Yesterday, when I visited EOCO, my blessings splashed around the premises and even touched our dear brother, Chairman Wontumi, leading to him not being detained anymore.”

The televangelist urged Ghanaians to stop attributing the politician’s release to any other factor besides her spiritual power.

She warned detractors not to underestimate the power of an anointed person and prophesied blessings upon everyone who watched her live video.

“Whether Ghanaians like it or not, it was my anointing that was a contributing factor to his release,” she stated. “If you are an anointed person, wherever your feet land, it turns into a blessing.”

As expected, her remarks have stirred a frenzy on social media, with critics calling it a publicity stunt while her followers hail it as a manifestation of divine power.

The EOCO is yet to officially comment on the circumstances surrounding Chairman Wontumi’s detention or release.

Nana Ama McBrown Opens Up About Dropping Out of School: “I Felt It Was a Disgrace”

Beloved Ghanaian actress and TV personality Nana Ama McBrown has shared a powerful and emotional story about her early struggles with education, revealing that she dropped out of secondary school due to unpaid fees.

In an exclusive interview with Berla Mundi on TV3’s New Day, the award-winning actress recounted how financial hardship forced her to leave Prince of Peace Girls Secondary School before she could complete her first year.

“I started at Prince of Peace Girls Secondary, but I couldn’t finish Form 1,” she revealed. “I didn’t pay my school fees and I was so embarrassed. I just felt like, this is not me. Let me step out.”

McBrown described the humiliation she felt whenever a teacher entered the classroom, triggering glances from classmates who knew she would be asked to leave.

“Everybody will turn and look at me because they know I’m going home,” she said.

“That time, we were young, so we couldn’t think it would be well. I just felt like it’s a disgrace.”

Despite the shame and emotional weight of that experience, McBrown didn’t allow it to limit her future. She later enrolled in the College of Business Studies—not out of necessity, but to avoid the stigma of not being in school.

“I enroled in College of Business Studies, Bella, knowing that I would not need that certificate for anything,” she admitted. “But people were just asking that question—‘why are you not in school?’—and I felt embarrassed.”

Court rejects Lilwin’s request to halt Martha Ankomah’s defamation suit

Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lilwin, has been dealt a legal setback in the ongoing GH¢5 million defamation case filed by celebrated actress Martha Ankomah.

The Accra High Court on Monday dismissed an application by Lilwin seeking to stay proceedings in the case.

The actor had argued that the matter should be suspended until the Court of Appeal rules on a pending request to transfer the case from Accra to Kumasi, where he resides.

However, the judge ruled against the application, ordering the trial to continue in Accra and imposing a GH¢5,000 cost on Lilwin.

The legal wrangle stems from a viral video released earlier this year in which Lilwin allegedly launched a scathing personal attack on Martha Ankomah.

In the video, Lilwin accused the actress of snubbing Kumawood productions and looking down on local actors, claiming she had said their storylines were substandard. He also questioned her achievements, implying that her rise to fame was more about industry connections than talent.

Feeling defamed and misrepresented, Martha Ankomah filed a lawsuit on February 14, 2024, seeking GH¢5 million in damages for what she describes as severe reputational harm.

In a controversial response to the lawsuit, Lilwin appeared to dismiss the seriousness of the legal action by posting a video clip of NDC Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia saying, “Every idiot can go to court.”

The post was widely seen as mocking the legal process and downplaying the significance of the case.

The lawsuit has since sparked intense discussion among fans and stakeholders in the Ghanaian film industry, many of whom are calling for more professionalism and mutual respect among creatives.

With the latest ruling from the Accra High Court, all eyes will now turn to the trial as the legal showdown between two of Ghana’s most prominent actors continues.

Ghanaian rapper Amerado has opened up about his mixed feelings following the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), revealing both disappointment and admiration in the aftermath of the event.

In an interview on Hitz FM, Amerado revealed that although he had rooted for his own song “Ankonam” to clinch Reggae Song of the Year, he holds no bitterness toward the outcome, especially since the winning track, Psalm 23 by Stonebwoy, is one of his personal favourites.

“But with the ones that I got nominated for, I think Ankonam. I expected Ankonam to win the Reggae Song of the Year but then it went to Stonebwoy, which is also fine because Psalm 23 is also one of my favourite songs from Stonebwoy,” he said.

Before discussing his nominations, Amerado first expressed frustration over an unexpected snub; his track Abronoma, which he firmly believed was a contender for Songwriter of the Year, failed to secure a spot in the category.

“I was expecting to be in the Songwriter of the Year category with Abronoma and up to now it still marvels my mind why I didn’t go in there,” he said, calling the omission one of the biggest letdowns of the awards season.

Despite the setbacks, Amerado acknowledged the recognition he did receive at the TGMAs and remained gracious about the wins of his peers. His reflections offer a glimpse into the competitive yet respectful spirit among Ghana’s top musical talents.
