“I Even Feel Like I Am Going Mad” – Abu Trica Opens Up On Mental Health Struggle

0

Ghanaian socialite Abu Trica has stated that the emotional weight of his detention is still with him, adding that the experience has left a noticeable impact on his mental health.

Speaking in an interview with Captain Smart on Onua TV, he reflected on what he described as a deeply unsettling period while in the custody of the Narcotics Control Commission. He said the ordeal continues to affect him even after his release, leaving him emotionally unsettled.

He described the period as one of the most difficult phases of his life, noting that the memories remain vivid and often resurface unexpectedly.

“I feel bad. Sometimes I will just be talking to myself, I cry, and I even feel like I am going mad,” he said during the interview.

According to him, he was kept in a single room for roughly a month, spending the entire time in isolation. He said being confined alone in a dark space had a profound effect on his mental stability.

He added that the prolonged isolation and absence of human contact made the experience increasingly difficult to cope with, leaving him with lasting psychological strain.

Abu Trica also pointed to the emotional strain of being separated from his four-year-old child, saying the lack of communication with family deepened his distress throughout the period.

On the circumstances surrounding his arrest, he rejected any suggestion of wrongdoing, insisting he has never been involved in drug-related activity. He also claimed that NACOC officials carried out background checks which, according to him, did not link him to any narcotics offences.
Despite those findings, he said he remained in custody.

Now free on bail, Abu Trica says the experience has not faded from his mind. He maintains that the psychological scars are still present, with the memory of his month-long detention continuing to affect his emotional well-being.

Abu Trica Claims He Was Handcuffed For 12 Hours During Police Search

Abu Trica has detailed his version of the events that led to his arrest, claiming he was left in handcuffs for more than 12 hours as security personnel searched his luxury apartment in Accra.

The businessman and social media personality, born Frederick Kumi, shared the account during an interview with Captain Smart on Onua TV on June 3, 2026. He described what he said was an extensive operation carried out at his apartment in the Airport Residential Area on December 11, 2025.

According to him, the incident began early in the day while he was at the property with friends. He alleged that officers from the Cybercrime Unit of the Ghana Police Service, accompanied by personnel from the Narcotics Control Commission, arrived with a search warrant and informed him that they intended to search the premises.

“It happened on the morning of December 11, 2025. My boys and I were in one of my apartments at Airport Residential. We heard a knock at the gate and when we opened it, it was personnel from the Cybercrime Unit of the Ghana Police Service and some personnel from Narcotics,” he recounted.

Abu Trica said the officers subsequently informed him that he was being arrested over allegations linked to cyber fraud.

He claimed he demanded an explanation for the operation and was shown a TikTok video that investigators allegedly believed connected him to large sums of money.

“When I enquired why I was being searched, one of them showed me a TikTok video depicting me flaunting stacks of cash and asked where the money was,” he said.

Abu insisted the account behind the video did not belong to him and rejected claims that he had posted the content.

“I told them I never posted such a video. I am not on TikTok and that account in particular was fake. They still didn’t believe me,” he stated.

Abu Trica further alleged that he and the other individuals present remained restrained throughout the search, which he said stretched from morning until night.

“They handcuffed me and made me sit for over 12 hours while they searched the entire apartment. The video people saw of me and my friends seated on the couch, handcuffed, we were like that from 9 a.m. in the morning to 9 p.m.,” he claimed.

He also accused the officers of preventing him from contacting legal representation during the exercise.

“Even when I asked to call my lawyer, they did not allow me and rather took offence,” he said.

The interview forms part of Abu Trica’s ongoing public defence as he continues to challenge allegations tied to an alleged international romance fraud and money laundering scheme.

The case, which includes fraud and extradition proceedings, has attracted widespread attention in Ghana and beyond. Abu Trica has consistently denied any wrongdoing and maintains that he has no connection to the criminal activities alleged by investigators.

Nana Agradaa Gives Unmarried Pastors Deadline To Marry Or Face Demotion

Founder of Heaven Way International Ministry, Nana Agradaa, has stirred conversation on social media after issuing a directive to unmarried junior pastors in her church, warning that they could be demoted if they fail to get married before the end of the year.

Speaking during a church gathering in a video that has since gone viral, the controversial evangelist said pastors serving under her ministry have six months to settle down or risk losing their current positions.

“I am giving you until the end of the year. If you are a pastor and you have not gotten married, I will demote you,” she stated.

According to Agradaa, she believes church leaders should set a positive example for congregants and questioned the conduct of unmarried pastors who remain sexually active outside marriage.

“You have the remaining six months to settle down, or you risk losing your position as a pastor. You cannot tell me you are not married but still want to engage in sexual activities,” she said.

The evangelist further challenged her junior pastors to embrace responsibility and family life, arguing that marriage encourages discipline and accountability.

“How can a full-grown pastor be in this church without a wife and still be engaging in immoral behaviour? Be a responsible man. Look at your father and be like him,” she remarked.

Agradaa also linked marriage to personal wellbeing, suggesting that married pastors are more likely to enjoy stability and proper care at home.

“Get married so your wife can prepare good meals for you. Look at how good Angel Prophet looks because I have been taking good care of him with good meals,” she added, referring to her husband, Angel Asiamah.

The comments have sparked mixed reactions online. While some social media users agreed with her view that church leaders should uphold strong family values, others questioned whether marital status should be tied to one’s ability to serve in a pastoral role.

Serwaa Amihere Draws Attention At Supreme Court After Judges Question Legal Representation

Broadcaster-turned-lawyer Serwaa Amihere became the focus of legal discussions after judges at Ghana’s Supreme Court reportedly raised concerns about her appearance before the apex court without a senior lawyer accompanying her legal team.

According to reports, the issue arose during proceedings in the case The Republic v. The Court of Appeal, Civil Division, Kumasi; Ex-Parte CalBank PLC (Suit No. J5/54/2026), where Serwaa Amihere, who was recently called to the Ghana Bar, moved an application before the court.

The matter was reportedly brought to public attention by legal commentary platform The Law Platform, which highlighted exchanges between the bench and the legal team.

Presiding over the case was Justice Amadu Tanko, the third seniormost judge of the Supreme Court.

During the hearing, the judges reportedly questioned why two relatively junior lawyers were handling a matter before the country’s highest court without the supervision or involvement of a more experienced senior counsel.

The bench is said to have emphasized the importance of mentorship within the legal profession, particularly when young lawyers are tasked with arguing cases before the Supreme Court.

According to reports, the judges expressed reservations about the practice, suggesting that the guidance of seasoned practitioners plays a crucial role in the professional development of younger lawyers and helps ensure the effective presentation of cases at the highest judicial level.

The incident has since sparked conversations within legal and public circles, with some observers viewing the judges’ comments as a reminder of the value of mentorship in the legal profession, while others have argued that newly qualified lawyers should also be given opportunities to independently build courtroom experience.

Serwaa Amihere, who transitioned from broadcasting into law after being called to the Bar, has attracted significant public interest in recent years due to her dual career in media and the legal profession.

Dr Likee partners NGOs to clear hospital bills of needy patients at KATH

Award-winning Ghanaian actor and content creator born Ebenezer Akwasi Antwi aka Dr. Likee, has settled hospital bills for some needy patients at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in the Ashanti Region.

The comic actor partnered with the N.B. Sika Foundation, founded by Rosemond Nuamah-Mensah, popularly known as Nana Sika Bimpomaa, and Hubert Kyei-Mensah, known as Overmars, to support vulnerable patients.

A cheque of GH¢76,026 was presented to hospital management to clear outstanding bills for patients unable to pay for medical services rendered.

Beneficiaries included new mothers who were unable to settle their delivery bills.

In addition to the payment, the team donated diapers, baby formula, and detergents to support mothers and their newborns.

No Feud With Delay – Ohemaa Woyeje Breaks Silence On Long-Running Speculation

0

Rumours of a long-standing rift between media personalities Ohemaa Woyeje and Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay, have once again surfaced, but Woyeje says there is no truth to them.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM, the Ghanaian media personality dismissed suggestions of bad blood between the two, insisting their relationship has never been marked by conflict.

“I don’t have any issue with Delay. We used to work together at Top Radio. We’ve never had any issue at all,” she stated.

Woyeje explained that the speculation may have stemmed from the circumstances surrounding Delay’s departure from Top Radio years ago, an event that eventually led to her stepping into a more prominent role at the station.

According to her, management was caught off guard by Delay’s planned exit because the broadcaster had not formally communicated her intentions. She said the station only became aware of the situation after receiving information on a Sunday evening, shortly before Delay’s weekday programme was due to air.

“So she had planned secretly to leave and did not inform management. It was until Sunday evening that someone informed management about her intention to exit the station. Meanwhile, her show was on weekdays,” she explained.

Faced with the sudden vacancy, management moved quickly to find a replacement. Woyeje recalled receiving a call from the station manager that same evening asking her to take over the show the following day.

“He called me that Sunday evening to replace Delay the next day. He said he had noticed that I was good at the news presenting I used to do and, since I was a female, I was the best pick,” she recounted.

She accepted the challenge and said the transition came with significant pressure. To help maintain the programme’s audience, colleagues advised her on how to approach the role and even suggested that she avoid introducing herself by name during the early days of the show.

“They had to save the station from collapsing because Delay was very powerful. So when I came on air, those who would have tuned off if they didn’t hear her voice still stayed tuned because they could hear a woman’s voice,” she said, adding that only Delay’s most loyal fans left in search of her.

Reflecting on the impact of the move, Woyeje acknowledged that the station’s decision may have affected Delay’s ability to transfer her entire audience to her new platform.

“It saved the station but it affected her in a way. Maybe because the numbers she would have taken to where she went wasn’t what eventually went,” she disclosed.

Despite the lingering public narrative, Woyeje stressed that professional developments at the station never translated into personal hostility between the two women.

“Delay and I have no issues. It is just fake news,” the media personality stressed.

Abu Trica Details Arrest Ordeal, Denies $8m Fraud Accusation

Ghanaian socialite Frederick Kumi, popularly known as Abu Trica, has challenged reports linking him to an alleged $8 million fraud case, describing the figure as inaccurate and insisting the amount at the centre of the matter is significantly lower.

Speaking in an interview with Captain Smart on Onua TV, Abu Trica said investigators had themselves acknowledged a much smaller amount, rejecting claims that millions of dollars were involved.

His comments come after the High Court granted him bail while proceedings continue before the Gbese District Court.

“There is no such thing as an $8 million claim in the case against me. They themselves admitted they gave me $13,000,” he said.

Explaining how the disputed figure became associated with the case, Abu Trica recounted events following his arrest, claiming the amount surfaced during an interrogation he found troubling.

According to him, he was taken to the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) cells at night and later escorted to a conference room for questioning.

“The reason behind how the $8 million came about is that they came to arrest me and pick me up at night to NACOC cells. While in the cells, they came and told me that some men needed to interrogate me. It was a dark conference room, and I saw five men, three of whom were white and two were black,” he stated.

He further alleged that documents were presented to him during the session, which he believes formed part of a planned effort against him.

“They placed some documents in front of me, not knowing it was a setup orchestrated by themselves,” the socialite recalled.

Abu Trica also claimed investigators attempted to compel him to identify the owner of an account they were interested in, a request he said he declined.

“The informant told me to provide an account for them because they knew it did not belong to me. They wanted me to mention the name of the account owner, which I refused to do. They became furious and threatened to charge me with taking $8 million instead of the initial $1 million claim against me,” he revealed.

The socialite said he was shocked by the alleged threat and questioned why such treatment would occur in Ghana.

“I thought it was a joke. How can a foreigner treat me like that in my own country and threaten me?” he averred.

Abu Trica remains on bail as the legal process continues at the Gbese District Court.

Nigel Gaisie Sues Kumchacha, Seeks GH¢10m Over Alleged Defamatory Remarks

0

A long-running public spat between two prominent Ghanaian pastors has taken a legal turn, with Prophet Nigel Gaisie heading to court over remarks he says have damaged both his reputation and ministry.

The founder of Prophetic Hill Chapel has filed a lawsuit at the High Court in Amasaman against Prophet Nicholas Osei, widely known as Kumchacha, seeking GH¢10 million in damages for alleged defamation.

The case marks the latest development in a feud that has unfolded over several years through television discussions, interviews, and social media exchanges.

According to court documents that have surfaced online, Nigel Gaisie argues that Kumchacha repeatedly made statements that cast doubt on his character and questioned the legitimacy of his prophetic work.

Among the allegations highlighted in the suit are claims attributed to Kumchacha suggesting that the prophet relies on information gathered through individuals strategically positioned within church congregations. The information, he allegedly claimed, is later presented as divine revelation during prophetic ministration.

The filing further references comments that allegedly branded Nigel Gaisie a false prophet and challenged the authenticity of his spiritual calling.

Nigel Gaisie maintains that the repeated remarks have caused significant reputational damage, exposing him to public ridicule while diminishing his credibility among Christians and the general public.

He also contends that the controversy has strained certain personal relationships and affected the confidence some members of his church have in his leadership.

Court records indicate that efforts were made over the years to resolve the matter outside the courtroom. However, the prophet says those attempts failed to produce a satisfactory outcome, leading him to seek legal redress.

As part of the action before the court, Nigel Gaisie wants a declaration that statements allegedly made by Kumchacha in videos circulated on social media are defamatory.

He is also asking the court to compel Kumchacha to publicly withdraw the comments and issue an apology.

Furthermore, the Prophetic Hill founder is seeking GH¢10 million in damages, arguing that the alleged publications have inflicted substantial harm on both his personal reputation and ministry.

Sista Afia Reveals How She Started Working At 15 Despite Growing Up In Wealth

Sista Afia has opened up about how her drive to be financially independent started years before she became a recognised name in music, saying she began working at the age of 15, even though she grew up in a financially secure home.

In an interview on Angel FM in Kumasi with MC Portfolio, the Ghanaian singer explained that she was raised by a single mother who had built significant wealth through businesses and real estate investments. Despite that comfort, she said her mother was intentional about not raising children who depended on privilege.

Rather than providing everything on demand, her mother focused on discipline, responsibility and self-sufficiency, values Sista Afia says shaped her outlook on life from an early age.

She indicated that financial comfort at home never translated into entitlement. According to her, her mother understood the effort it took to build her success and was determined to ensure her children developed the same resilience rather than relying on family wealth.

Sista Afia stressed that she has never depended on a man for financial support, adding that she started earning her own income while still a teenager. By 15, she said she had already made the decision to stop relying on her mother for money and begin building her own path.

She described work as something she naturally gravitated toward, saying she was never comfortable asking others for financial help. That mindset, she added, was reinforced by the environment she grew up in.

Many of her peers, she recalled, were already working and spending what they earned. Watching them created a strong motivation for her to do the same rather than depend on allowances.

That push for independence eventually led her to seek formal employment. She secured a job as a bar attendant, which she described as the starting point of her journey toward financial self-reliance.

Yaw Dabo Reveals Reality Behind Ghana’s Movie Industry Paychecks

Kumawood actor Yaw Dabo has talked about the perception that acting automatically translates into wealth, revealing that the movie industry brought him fame more than financial rewards.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on UTV’s Atuu, the actor opened up about the realities of earning a living in Ghana’s film space. While movies played a major role in making him a household name, he said the bigger financial opportunities came from the doors that fame opened rather than from acting fees themselves.

“Movies brought money, but not a lot. What it does is it gives you popularity and stardom. You can get advertising gigs and other deals. One advertising gig can pay more than a movie gig,” he said.

Dabo explained that endorsements and commercial partnerships have often proved more lucrative than film appearances, underscoring the growing importance of brand deals for many actors.

Despite the modest earnings from movie roles, he said he remains grateful for the career path that acting provided. According to him, the visibility he gained through the industry has had a lasting impact on both his personal and family life.

“It has blessed me a lot. Through acting, I have gotten the chance to build a life for myself and my family. I got a place for my mother as well,” Dabo stated.

His comments add to the ongoing debate about the economics of Ghana’s creative industry, where many actors depend on endorsements, appearances and other business ventures to supplement income from the screen.
