Akosua Agyapong has expressed dissatisfaction with questions surrounding her marriage. According to her, she prefers to keep her private life out of public discussions and focus conversations on the work that made her a household name.
The veteran singer said she finds it unnecessary for media personalities to probe into her relationship with fellow musician Nat Brew, popularly known as Amandzeba, because matters concerning her marriage have no connection with her music career.
Speaking in an interview on JoyPrime TV, Akosua Agyapong explained that while she remains open to discussing her journey in music, she does not feel compelled to respond to questions about her personal affairs.
She said her relationship and marriage are private matters that she has never presented as part of her public identity as an artiste.
“An issue came up, and people started asking, ‘What happened between you and Nat (Amandzeba)?’ That should not concern anyone. It’s not part of my music. Nowhere in my music career have I indicated that I’m going to talk about my relationship or marriage because that is my personal life. When it has something to do with music, I am ready to answer,” she said.

The singer added that protecting her children is one of the reasons she avoids making public comments about sensitive family matters. According to her, careless statements made during interviews can have lasting effects on loved ones.
“Stay away from my private life because I have children. I will not come and sit here and say things that could hurt my kids. Some presenters throw questions at you, and if you’re not smart, you start answering things you may later regret. I came here because of my music, so ask me about my music career,” she averred.
Akosua Agyapong also questioned the motives behind some relationship-related questions posed by media practitioners, arguing that those who often seek details about celebrities’ personal lives may themselves be facing difficulties away from the public eye.
She suggested that personal struggles are not exclusive to celebrities and that public figures deserve the same privacy extended to everyone else.
“If you look at some of the presenters asking these questions, if you go behind the scenes, what they are going through in their own relationships may be very bad, yet they want to find out about somebody else’s,” Akosua Agyapong further stated.
