Lady With Bleached Skin Turned Away At Miss Ghana Audition

7

The auditions for this year’s Miss Ghana@60 competition have been hugely successful across the regions.

However, the Takoradi audition held on August 28 seemed to have tested the firmness of the judges.

What started as a smooth sailing screening at the Best Western Atlantic Hotel, came to a brief halt when a ‘light skinned’ lady appeared before the panel.

From interactions between the said lady and the jury, the lady considered as a potential contestant confirmed that she had actually tampered with the complexion of her natural skin.

Joy New’s Doreen Avio, who is with the team, reports that the young lady [name withheld] offered an explanation for bleaching her skin.

According to the lady, who exhibited much eloquence and confidence at the audition, a cosmetologist introduced her to a cream to help her deal with ‘rashes’ on her face.

This she said, resulted in the ‘lightening’ of her facial skin. She added that the development pushed her to apply the cream to all parts of her body in order to ensure uniformity.

She told the judges that she has stopped using the said cream for a long while now but her dark complexion has not returned.

The lady pleaded with the judges to allow her to contest but her plea was turned down.

In all, five ladies were picked in the Western Region.

Prior to that, six ladies had gotten the approval of the judges in the Volta Region for a chance to contest in the grand audition on September 1.

The level of enthusiasm, alacrity and vim exhibited by the folks at the Volta Region audition for this year’s Miss Ghana was impressive.

Many ladies defied the heavy rains and thronged the Sky Plus Hotel in Ho for a chance to be selected for the final leg of auditions in Accra in September.

Popular actor/producer, Kafui Danku, who is also a former Miss Ghana contestant, led a panel of judges who presided over a very successful audition in the Volta Region. The others were Ivy Emefa Doe, Human Resource Manager for Sky Plus Hotel and Mrs. Saha Kambo-Lamptey, a designer and longstanding donor to the Miss Ghana pageant.

At the end of the session, six (6) lucky ladies were selected to join those already chosen in the other regions, with those in Takoradi and Cape Coast also happening in the course of the week.

The 10-region audition is expected to come to a close in Accra, at the Holiday Inn, on September 1, 2017 where six (6) are expected to be selected too.

Stop The Hypocrisy And Go Naked In Movies – Actress Baby Blanche To Colleagues

6
Baby Blanche

Hot Fork actress Baby Blanche has asked her colleagues in the movie industry to be bold and go nude in movies if it will serve a good purpose.

The outspoken actress speaking on Radio Univers’ Brunch2Lunch entertainment show stated without thinking twice that she is ever ready to disrobe in movies. Blanche told Zionfelix, host of the show that she will agree to stark naked when the money producers are offering for the action is hefty.

“if you give me a scene and I think I can do it, I’ll not shake my head. If I’m to go naked and the money is good and again it will serve a purpose in the movie, I’ll do it. Go to mortuary and you will see countless naked bodies lying there. I’ll not remove my clothes unnecessarily so if I sit and realise that showing my body in movie will advise the viewer, then why shouldn’t I do it?

My colleagues should stop the hypocrisy because they might never get the money that will come with this scene in their life. If you are offered one million dollars to go naked and you will deny it, then keep on being a hypocrite” Baby Blanche told Zionfelix on the show.

Baby Blanche who just returned from acting break will premiere her first self-produced movie, Trophy in October.

Actors Hot Over Naked Photos

7

Actress Ingrid Alabi has been defending her half-naked photos with Majid Michel making rounds on some media platforms.

According to her, she couldn’t believe anyone could actually describe those images as “naked photos.”

“We are not naked,” she told NEWS-ONE on Monday.

Tongues have since last week been wagging over the latest half-naked images of the popular Ghanaian actors, which were used for artworks for their upcoming movie titled, ‘Adam The Eve’.

The artworks which were released late last week show both actors in different compromising positions and were covered with leaves in a bid to depict biblical images of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

Interestingly, the imaged has popped up at a time when Majid is preaching the gospel to win souls for Jesus and staying away from engaging in things on the silver-screens that will distance him from his Christian faith.

Even though the upcoming movie was reportedly shot about two years, it is not clear when the photos for the artworks which have been generating a lot of public interest were taken.

But Ingrid said on Monday that they were not naked. She didn’t see anything naked about the images. It is, however, a surprise to her that people are actually thinking they were naked.

“How can we be naked? We were covered in leaves,” she further defended the posters.

Ingrid is returning onto on the big screens in the upcoming movie after a long break.

The new movie, ‘Adam The Eve’, seeks to educate Ghanaians, especially married couples, to be content with what they have. It features other seasoned actors like Roselyn Ngissah, Peter Richie and others from Nigeria.

It will premiere on September 1 at the Silverbird Cinemas in Accra and West Hills Malls. Some scenes of the movie which are sexually suggestive have been raising concerns about Majid’s Christian life, even though he has been explaining he shot the movie long ago.

Demo Against Telenovelas In Twi Not Necessary – Lilwin’s Manager

1
LilWin & manager, Razak

Razak Immisah, manager for popular actor, Liwin has frowned on plans by the Film Producers Association of Ghana, FIPAG to stage a demonstration against foreign telenovelas translated into Twi.

He believes Ghanaian movie producers need to sit and plan to find the antidote for the dying movie industry instead of fighting against telenovelas on our screens. According to him, the demo, which has been postponed from August 31, is needless.

Razak opined that movies produced in recent times are of low quality and that is one major problem producers should look at instead of the demonstration. When Zionfelix, host of Brunch2Lunch entertainment show asked Razak if he will allow his artist, Kwadwo Nkansah Liwin to join the protestors when they finally announce the new date for the march, he replied that they have not received any official invitation from the organisers so they will decide when FIPAG writes to them.

“I don’t know when they are demonstrating and nobody has officially written to us about the upcoming event. I told my artiste (Liwin) and other producers that we are not producing good movies judging from what I’ve seen.” he told Zionfelix on Brunch2Lunch entertainment show on Radio Univers in Accra.

Mr. Immisah further questioned the importance of FIPAG’s decision to petitioning Otumfour Osei Tutu II over the influx of telenovelas in the country since he is not a government official.
