On Sunday morning, it was reported on many blogs locally and internationally that popular YouTuber and social media star Nicole Thea has passed away at the age of 24, along with her unborn son Reign.

The rather sad and heartbreaking news was confirmed by her family on Instagram with her official account which has 107,000 followers.

In the statement, they wrote: “To all Nicole’s friends and supporters it is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Nicole and her son she and Boga named Reign sadly passed away on Saturday morning. Also Nicole pre-scheduled a few YouTube videos and Boga has made the decision to allow them to be aired. As a family, we ask that you give us privacy because our hearts are truly broken and we are struggling to cope with what has happened. Thank you, her mum. RIP my beautiful baby girl Nicnac and my grandson Reign, I will miss you for the rest of my life until we meet again in eternal heaven.”

In the midst of the reactions to the news of her sad demise, many people who could not come to terms with how and why such a bubbly young lady who was so full of life could just give up the ghost shared varied posts to reveal their fond memories of her.

In an attempt to also react to the sad news, self-acclaimed king of Ghana comedy, Derick Kobina Bonney aka DKB actually lost his sense of reasoning and decided to attack the dead young lady for no reason at all.

Being so religious and trying to probably take up the role of the ‘Pope’, DKB decided to suggest that Nicole Thea died of a heart attack with her unborn baby just because she posted baby bump photos online and showed off her growing bump in a lot of dance videos.

In that ridiculous tweet, DKB shared, he wrote: “You display your pregnancy so much, you think principalities and witches would not attack you? RIP dear other girls learn your lesson. There are spiritual forces roaming and looking for victims”

Now, this is where my problem lies. I have been asking myself why any sane person will want to associate the death of the young lady to ‘principalities and witches’ just because she flaunted her baby bump when there are many other pregnant women who die each day without sharing a single photo of their pregnant selves online.

It is high time people like DKB tried to reason beyond the belief that every single bad thing which happens in the world is caused by some witch and appreciate the fact that people can actually die because of one health complication or the other.

This sort of thinking is awfully dumb and must indeed not be given the attention by anybody who is right thing.
