The Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) has in a statement sighted by Zionfelix.net assured all musicians who are with the organization that they will start receiving their royalties from Monday.

In the statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO), Prince Tsegah, the amount of GHC500,000 to be distributed is just part of collections made which is low as compared to previous distributions.

According to the statement, dwindling CDS and cassettes imports have affected the revenue generated from the 20 percent levy imposed on blank levy under the legislative instrument, LI 1962.

They further assured members that steps are being taken to impose a levy on other devices such as mobile phones, pen drives, hard discs, laptop computers among others to raise funds for the music right owners.
