Kumawood actor and producer Kwadwo Nkansah, otherwise known as Lilwin, has put money on the table in a bid to clamp down on television stations he accuses of showing his films without approval.
In a video shared online, he called on the public to help him track down unauthorised broadcasts, urging viewers to monitor TV channels and report any of his productions being aired illegally. He assured that anyone who provides solid evidence will be paid.
He drew a clear line between his current productions and older films he merely featured in, stressing that his concern is limited to projects he personally produced and owns. The earlier works, he noted, are not his to claim since he was only contracted as an actor.
“Anyone who would draw my attention to the TV stations airing my movies without my consent, I will reward the person handsomely. I’m not talking about the old movies because they’re not mine. I was just featured and I got paid. I’m talking about the current movies and series I produced,” he said.
To make reporting easier, Lilwin asked supporters to record short clips as proof and forward them through his social media pages or WhatsApp, adding that even a few seconds of footage would be sufficient.

“Whenever you see any of my movies on TV, kindly tag me on all my social media platforms. If you have my number, you can send it on WhatsApp too and I will give you money. Get enough time and tune in to all TV stations to confirm for me. You can take a 10-second video of it and send it to me,” he stated.
He disclosed that some television stations have already been contacted and given a deadline to resolve the matter, indicating that discussions are underway. However, he warned that he is ready to take the next step if they fail to respond.
“All those who have already aired it, I’ve spoken to them and asked them to talk to their team. There’s a limited time I gave them, but if I don’t hear from them, I will serve them a letter,” he cautioned.
Lilwin further highlighted the financial pressure behind film production, pointing out that creators often rely on personal funds to sustain their work and grow the industry.
“It’s not easy to produce a movie and we will not allow anyone to waste our effort. Sometimes, the money we’re supposed to feed on, we use it to make the movies so that my brand and our industry can grow,” he stated.
