Minister Announces Official Schedule For Ashanti Festival 2025

Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene has officially unveiled the schedule for the highly anticipated Ashanti Festival 2025, a grand celebration of culture, heritage, and entertainment.

The festival is set to commence on April 12, 2025, and will culminate in a spectacular finale on April 26, 2025.

The festivities will begin on Saturday, April 12, 2025, with a Cleanup Exercise from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM across all MMDAs. This will be followed by the Opening Match and the Launch of the Inter-District Soccer Games from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at a yet-to-be-determined location. The day will wrap up with an exciting Boxing Night at Paa Joe Stadium, KNUST, from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM.

On Sunday, April 13, 2025, the festival will embrace Ashanti traditions with the Akwasidae/Yɛkɔsom celebration at Manhyia from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Later in the day, Rattray Park will host a Fashion Exhibition from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, followed by an elegant Fashion Night from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Monday, April 14, 2025, will focus on education and innovation. The Basic School Spelling Bee (English & Twi) will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Great Hall, KNUST. This will be succeeded by the Inter-SHS Debate Competition from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM and the Science and Technology Fair from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, both taking place at the same venue.

On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, the spotlight will be on culture. The day will begin with Cultural Day performances by students and cultural groups from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Kumasi Cultural Center. This will be followed by the Jama Festival from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, alongside the Food Fair/Food Bazaar, which will run from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the same venue.

The Ashanti Development Forum will take center stage on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. A Public Lecture will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Prempeh Assembly Hall, followed by a Panel Discussion on Ashanti Development from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and an Open Forum Q&A Session from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

On Thursday, April 17, 2025, health and wellness initiatives will take priority. Free Health Screening will be conducted from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Kumasi Central Prisons, while a Blood Donation drive will take place at Kumasi City Mall during the same period. Later that evening, a special Movie Night honoring Kumawood’s fallen heroes will be held from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Golden Eagle Cinemas, Kumasi City Mall.

Friday, April 18, 2025, will be filled with adventure and family-friendly activities. An Excursion and Carnival at Lake Bosomtwe will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, while children can enjoy the Kids Festival from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Jubilee Park.

On Saturday, April 19, 2025, the festival will highlight Ashanti craftsmanship. The Kwabre Anweneɛ Festival, showcasing wood carving and Adinkra, will be held in Mamponteng from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The vibrant Kente Festival will follow in Bonwire from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, setting the stage for the Ashanti Konnect Concert (Music Festival) from 5:30 PM until late at the same venue.

Sunday, April 20, 2025, will bring an artistic touch to the celebrations. The Ashanti Dramalogue will feature performances by Kumawood All Stars, Kejetia Vs Makola, stand-up comedy, and a stage play from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the KNUST CCB Auditorium.

On Monday, April 21, 2025, the festival will embrace philanthropy with a Fundraising Event in collaboration with the Heal Komfo Anokye Team from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Manhyia.

Finally, on Saturday, April 26, 2025, the festival will conclude with a grand Thanksgiving and a special celebration marking 26 years of the reign of HRM Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The Ashanti Festival 2025 promises to be a remarkable event, blending tradition, entertainment, and community engagement to celebrate the rich heritage of the Ashanti people.

Ghanaian businessman Richard Nii-Armah Quaye is set to celebrate his 40th birthday in grand style.

Dignitaries and celebrities from across Africa are expected to attend the celebration, according to a leaked guest list.

The milestone event, honoring the Founder of Bills Micro-Credit, will take place at Independence Square in Accra on March 22, 2025.

Among the high-profile celebrities expected to grace the occasion are Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido, Tanzania’s music sensation Diamond Platnumz, and Ghana’s award-winning rap icon Sarkodie.

Also in attendance will be veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Afrobeats star KiDi, acclaimed Nollywood actress Rita Dominic, and Ghanaian dancehall and reggae heavyweight Stonebwoy. Legendary Nollywood actor Ramsey Nouah, as well as Ghanaian musicians King Promise and Efya, are also on the guest list.

Additionally, renowned Ghanaian business magnates and media moguls Kwame Despite and Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong are expected to attend.

Richard Nii-Armah Quaye has been making headlines recently after reportedly acquiring a private jet, branded with his initials, as part of his birthday celebration.

Sammy Flex Announces The Death Of His Mother

Ghanaian media personality and artiste manager, Samuel Atuobi Baah, popularly known as Sammy Flex, has announced the death of his mother.

He sadly revealed in a Facebook post that his mother, Madam Comfort Baah, died on March 4, 2025.

Sammy Flex, who is the manager of Shatta Wale, said his mother’s One-Week Observation will be held on March 21 in Nkawkwaw at Nsuta.

He expressed how difficult it was for him to put words together.

Sammy Flex wrote: “My heart is heavy as I share the news of my beloved mother’s passing on March 4, 2025. Finding the words has been incredibly difficult. Her one-week observance will be held tomorrow in Nkawkaw at Nsuta, from 7am to 12pm, in line with Kwahu traditions. Friends and loved ones are duely notified in honoring her memory. Medikal Tips King Promise To Win Artiste Of The Year

Ghanaian rapper, Medikal, has mentioned who will win the Artiste of the Year at the 26th Telecel Music Awards.

In a post on X sighted by Zionfelix.net, the ‘Omo Ada’ rapper tipped King Promise to win the Artiste of the Year.

He wrote: “King Promise for Artiste of the year! No mush killa.”

King Promise will be battling with Kweku Smoke, Team Eternity, Joe Mettle, King Paluta, Stonebwoy and Black Sherif in the Artiste of the Year category of the 26th TGMA.

In another post, Medikal stated that King Paluta also deserves to win the Artiste of the Year.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with DEK360, Appiah Kubi recounted the events leading up to the arrest.

“We had just finished our exams and were heading home. We parted ways at Christian Village, and just a few meters from where we separated, I heard a siren.

At first, I thought it was an ambulance or something similar, so I didn’t pay much attention,” Speaker explained.

He talked about the crucial role such content plays in relationships in this era.

Badu made this statement when sharing the importance of communication in friendships and relationships in an Instagram video.

He said for a relationship to be successful, those involved should find means of communicating consistently, either through talking, texting or sharing content.

“Relationships and friendships are always built on communication. You gotta communicate every day. If you’re not talking, you’re texting. If you’re not texting, you have to find a way to communicate that greases the relationship,” he expressed.

“It is the new era we’re in, and it demands that you see what’s happening and you share it. If you’re not getting any jokes from your partner, your friend, your spouse, then there’s somebody they’re sharing it with, and it’s definitely not you. So start looking out for that,” Sonnie Badu stated.

Amerado Opens Up About Blocking A Girl Who Asked What He Was Doing Besides Music

Ghanaian rapper Amerado did not take it cool when a girl asked what he does apart from music.

Unhappy about the question, he opened up about blocking the girl in a recent discussion.

“I blocked a girl because she asked me what I do besides music,” Amerado said on Adom TV.

Though he was hurt initially, the ‘Kweku Ananse’ singer revealed he learnt something from the question.

Amerado acknowledged that there might be a limitation when the focus is only on music. He added that he is now focused on completing his tertiary education.

Brother Sammy has talked about the hypocritical behaviour exhibited by some gospel artistes in Ghana.

He asserted that some gospel artistes in the country won’t accept to collaborate with you if you are not in their circle.

According to him, some of them only prefer to work with artistes who speak English.

The ‘Aduro Biaa Nkadem’ singer said people pretend to be united in the industry—but in reality, there’s division.

“In this industry, some people pretend to be united, but they only work with those who speak English or share their ideologies. If you don’t belong to their circle, they won’t even consider you for a collaboration,” he told Akoto Mansa on the Asetena Pa show.

Answering a question about how possible it is to work with Diana Hamilton and Kofi Owusu Peprah, Sammy stated that he would be ready to work with them, however, unless they reached out to him.

“If they reach out, I have no problem, but I won’t go to them. I’ve seen how things work in this industry, and I won’t beg anyone for a collaboration,” he said. 

Brother Sammy further chastised those who do not practice what they preach in the gospel fraternity.
