Branding Is Not About Buying Rolls Royce Alone – Blakk Rasta Chides Ghanaian Artistes

0

Ghanaian artiste and media personality, Blakk Rasta, has stated that the branding of artistes in the country is not up to par.

In order to attain international recognition, he advised them to raise the bar.

Blakk Rasta asserted branding is not about buying Rolls Royce and houses.

“Ghanaian acts must raise the bar. We have to brand ourselves to the point we are also considered as international artistes. Our artistes are afraid to invest in their craft. We will buy Rolls Royce and you expect that people will come to your show and watch you, no.

“Branding is not about buying Rolls Royce alone, branding is not about acquiring house alone, spend on your career. It is not by force to buy Rolls Royce,” he said on UTV’s United Showbiz program.

However, Blakk Rasta sang the praise of Sonnie Badu for how he has invested in his career.

He therefore urged Ghanaian artistes to learn from him.

“Look at Sonnie Badu’s recent concert. Did you see the number of people he paraded on stage? If he is having a show in the UK, look at the kind of people he parades on stage.

“Do you think he makes profits from all the shows he organises? He loses in a lot of them, but the brand is going to be tight. As for us, we would buy Rolls-Royce,” Blakk Rasta stated.

“I hear that all the time, and I don’t apologise for it. I don’t render any apologies for it. I don’t know why anybody will say I’m rude because I just like to tell things as they are. In a measured way, most of the time I’m polite.

According to her, many women are not confident because they are afraid of being tagged as rude.

In this regard, she hopes to help and empower women through her Women of Valour initiative.

“The problem is that women are sometimes afraid to say what they can do because they think people will say they’re too knowing and want people to see that they can do this or that, but there’s nothing wrong with it because that’s what you can do.

“This is what I’m capable of doing, and this is what I’m bringing to the table when you employ me. So, there’s a confidence issue with a lot of our ladies,” Nana Aba Anamoah stated.
