“I’m happy that Nana Addo has been humiliated” – Kwame A Plus

0

Kwame Asare Obeng, widely known as A Plus, has delivered a scathing critique of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo by accusing his leadership of causing irreparable damage to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking on GHOne TV, the newly elected independent Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central did not mince words as he celebrated the NPP’s defeat in the 2024 general elections.

“Akufo-Addo has destroyed the NPP,” A Plus declared, describing the election results as a clear repudiation of the president’s policies.

“The general outcome of the election is a great one. Akufo-Addo has been humiliated, and I am so excited about it.”

A Plus attributed the NPP’s loss to its failure to address Ghanaians’ pressing needs, citing corruption and governance failures as key factors.

He criticized the administration’s handling of major policies, particularly the Free Senior High School (SHS) initiative, arguing that while the program was heavily promoted, other critical areas of governance were neglected.

“All they know is Free SHS, but what else? His government stole everything from us and didn’t listen to the people,” he said.

The actor, who has since apologized to the President-Elect, denied authoring the comment and provided an explanation during an interview on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz with Andy Dosty.

Prince explained that the post was a reply to an X user who had made disparaging remarks about him. However, he maintained that he was not the one behind the insult.

“After the election, we were all disappointed and a bit down because the outcome surprised us. Despite that, I publicly congratulated the NDC and the President-Elect. I even made a post calling for peace and unity. Then I started receiving numerous attacks on Twitter,” he recounted.

He further explained that due to his frustration and disappointment after the election, he avoided his phone entirely. “I wasn’t using my phone. Normally, when the bullying and trolling start, I leave my phone with my cousins or friends to handle,” he said.

Prince revealed his shock upon discovering reports about the alleged insult. “I woke up to see people tagging me in posts that supposedly came from my page. When I checked my feed, I didn’t see the post, but it was being widely shared on Facebook. I questioned my cousins and friends, but they denied making the comment. Still, I believe it may have been written in response to provocation from X users attacking me,” he explained.

The actor said his relatives may have deleted the post shortly after replying to the troll. Despite not being directly responsible for the comment, Prince decided to issue an apology to diffuse the situation.

Upon everything I did for them they didn’t even vote – KT Hammond

0

KT Hammond, Member of Parliament (MP) for Adansi Asokwa, expressed unhappiness with his constituents following his recent defeat in the 2024 parliamentary elections.

According to him, the citizens of his constituency declined to vote, resulting in his defeat.

He added that what bothered him the most was that regions where chiefs had assured him of victory still did not turn out to vote for him.

“I’ve worked hard for this constituency, and I thought that would be appreciated at the polls. But politics is full of surprises, and it’s clear that the people wanted a change,” he said.

“Places that cars couldn’t go, I had to walk and visit them. Places that even during my youthful age I wasn’t going, I went there in my old age. So, I made sure that I covered all places and felt comfortable.”

He continued, “So, when election day came, people refused to go and vote, and I was asking them why. They said they needed money. And I was like, why would they request money when I have done roads and provided them with potable water?

“What will make you cry is places where I constructed roads, where the chiefs said they would vote for me in appreciation, but they didn’t vote. It is very sad. What pained my heart most is that they didn’t vote.”
