Juju is everywhere; I’ve had my own experience in the UK – Esther Smith reveals

Renowned Ghanaian Gospel musician, Esther Smith has candidly discussed her encounters with witchcraft and black magic, commonly known as ‘juju,’ in the United Kingdom, a phenomenon that continues to affect the Ghanaian arts and entertainment sector.

In an astonishing revelation from her life in the UK, Esther recounted an incident where she discovered “two bones tied with a red cloth” at her doorstep one morning.

On the day of the event, the church’s Head Pastor unexpectedly fell ill, and it was later revealed that the church had been encircled by crates of eggs—a classic indicator of ‘juju.’

Reflecting on these experiences, Esther Smith expressed her deep appreciation for God’s unwavering protection, humorously remarking that “the witches outside Africa are even more powerful and numerous than those back home.”

She concluded with a piece of advice, urging individuals to earnestly seek God in all matters, as there is no greater source of protection than that which comes from the ‘Omnipotent One.’

“The claims of hardship in Ghana is cosmetic and a figment of their imagination. If you think there is hardship in Ghana, visit pubs and lounges at night and you’ll see how Ghanaian youth are chilling at night.

“This is a clear indication that there is no hardship. I acknowledge that after COVID things have not been the same but that is a global phenomenon,” he was quoted to have said in Mynewsgh’s report.

His statement comes at a time when Ghanaians are preparing for the 2024 elections.

Meanwhile, the cry of Ghanaians about hardship is evident on the streets of the country.

Osei thinks a vote for the NPP is for prosperity and growth.

He also argued that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) wouldn’t be a better alternative—so Ghanaians should vote for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP.

“I know times are hard, but it is global. The UK is just recovering from a recession, America is tough, Canada is tough, and our neighboring country Nigeria is equally tough. The alternative is not a solution. The alternative will send us into an abyss of disaster. Vote for progress, vote Bawumia, and vote Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the incoming president,” David Osei stated.

He further told Ghanaians to remember what the Nana Addo-led government did for them and businesses in the country during the outbreak of COVID-19.

“Let me take you down memory lane: we enjoyed free electricity, we enjoyed free water during the COVID pandemic era. Monies were given to people’s small-scale businesses; this is the kind of leadership we had and we are having. Bawumia taking over the baton is progress. I don’t want you to be deceived out there; the alternative has no solution for you. Vote for digitalisation,” the actor said.

In an interview on Accra-based ‘Kingdom FM’, the musician, whose real name is Andrew Kofi Cudjoe, disclosed that he would fully back the National Democratic Congress (NDC) if asked by his wife, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, who is the NDC parliamentary candidate for Amenfi Central in the Central Region.
