Veteran Ghanaian actor, Kofi Adjorlolo, has refuted claims that the Nigerian government supports filmmakers in the country.
While some people have argued about the support filmmakers in Nigeria get from the government, Mr Adjorlolo denied it.
He shot down the claims in a discussion with Nana Ama McBrown on Onua TV.
“It’s a very wrong impression. I have worked with so many Nigerian producers, and there’s nothing like governmental support.”
He indicated that some financial institutions in Nigeria, however, support film producers looking at how lucrative the industry is.

“There is nothing about government support; it’s their own money. Government has no say. But lately, the producers and directors are seeking sponsorship from banks. I remember ‘First Flight to Abuja’ was sponsored by a bank.
“Why? Because corporate bodies realized that Nollywood was popular and a profitable venture, hence their decision to sponsor,” the Ghanaian actor disclosed.
Kofi Adjorlolo added: “Ghanaians are wrong if they think that way. One of the things the government did for them is to project the brand name. In the past, when the Head of State traveled, actors like Ramsey Nouah, Liz Benson, Zach Orji, and others would accompany the delegation. Why? Because such interactions would help forge partnerships.”

Millionaire Ghanaian actress and movie producer, Tracey Boakye has emotionally recounted how her son almost died in the US after delivery.
In a trending TikTok video, Prophet Ogyaba claimed that he engaged in serious prayers because he would have been mocked by bloggers if Tracey’s son died.

According to the Prophet, this is because the actress pays tithe in dollars.
In the video, Prophet Ogyaba can be heard saying, Tracey called him about her son’s predicament.
“From 2:50 to 4 o’clock I prayed continuously that I even stepped out with my phone on my ears running around”.
“For someone who pays her tithe in dollars, should a misfortune like this happen, like the bloggers will make a case out of it. But whatever they thought never happened,” he added
According to Tracey Boakye, it was dire situation because this happened after she announced the birth of her son on social media.
“The hospital made me give my son a last kiss, and they asked me what number my newborn was born, and I said three. They then prepared me for the worst if the surgery didn’t go well. They made it clear that anything could happen,” the actress recounted.
Giving further details, she said “when my son was picked up by an ambulance, I wasn’t allowed to accompany him. They took only the baby, along with a life support machine. I cried, and that was when I reached out to you.“
The prophet in response said “Distance is not a barrier. So I told God, Lord, if you have indeed called me and blessed me with my ministry…“
Expressing gratitude to Tracey, he added that “the entire movie industry, except for this lady, has followed me from Aputuoja to this place. If anything were to happen to her, people would make negative remarks. So I prayed to God, asking Him not to let our enemies mock us”.
