I begin fearing for my life anytime a woman expresses her love for me – Ofori Amponsah reveals

Ofori Amponsah, a popular Highlife singer from Ghana, has disclosed his reluctance to engage in romantic relationships.

The artist, known for his romantic lyrics and soulful music, explained that proposing to a woman is a daunting task for him because he fears being disappointed.

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Ofori Amponsah expressed his doubts about the existence of true love.

He believes that individuals who quickly profess their love often cause the most pain.

Despite being a celebrated figure in the Ghanaian music industry since his collaboration with Daddy Lumba in 1999, the artist confessed that he harbors a deep fear of women expressing their feelings towards him and does not believe in the power of romantic love.

In his own words…

I tread carefully when people show me, love. More often than not, those who claim to love you are the ones who hurt you the most. Look at the case of the Police Inspector who killed his lover. How can someone profess love and then commit such an act? If you truly love someone, the last thing on your mind should be causing them harm,” 

“In this world, the last thing I expect from a woman is for her to show me love. I fear for my life when a woman starts expressing her feelings for me,”

Empress Gifty Hits The Ground Running With ‘Awiey3 Pa’ – Listen

Ghanaian gospel music diva, Empress Gifty has hit the ground running for 2023 with a new single dubbed Awiey3 Pa.

The song which is her first single for the year, is off her album expected to be released before the end of the year.

Empress Gifty revealed that the song which was written by her colleague, Ewura Abena was inspired by Jeremiah 29:11 which says “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”  

The song preaches a message of motivation that one’s beginning may look troubled, however, with trust in God, the end will look brighter.

The multiple award-winner in the song encouraged people not to allow themselves to be troubled by what others do or say because their destiny is in the hands of God and not humans.

According to the gospel music heavyweight, this song is expected to touch many lives.

“It is my prayer that my first song of the year impacts your life and gives you a testimony,” she revealed.

Awiey3 Pa was recorded, mixed and mastered by renowned producer, Shadrach Yawson.

Other contributors on the song are Lead gtr _ Dominic Quarchie Backing vocals -TMC, Tasha and Nana Yaa, Bass guitar- Dan Grahl

Sarkodie Announces JAMZ Concert At NYC Town Hall

It’s almost showtime!

After publicizing the news of his Jamz World Tour, Sarkodie has just released the official flyer for the New York event on July 15th, 2023.

Rapper Sarkodie announced he’ll be taking the iconic Town Hall in New York City for a special concert with his fans.

The North American tour commences from July 15th to September 3rd across 11 major cities in the United States and Canada.

The New York show will take place at Town Hall in New York City with a general sale of tickets kicking off today. 

Tickets go on sale through Ticketmaster here – https://www.ticketmaster.com/event/03005EA84B73668B. Admission prices start at $50, $70, and $100.

Nacee didn’t write my ‘Waye Me Yie’ song – Piesie Esther clarifies (Video)

Piesie Esther has dismissed the reports that Nacee wrote her viral ‘Waye Me Yie’ hit song.

During an appearance on ONUA TV’s ONUA Maakye Show, Piesie Esther explained that Nacee only guided and coached her but he didn’t write the lyrics of her song as reported in the media.

Okyeame Kwame predicts winning another VGMA ‘Artiste Of The Year’ before retirement

Ghanaian rapper Okyeame Kwame voiced his confidence in taking home another Artist of the Year Award at the VGMAs before retirement.

In an interview with Felicia Osei on ‘Adwuma Adwuma’ Onua FM, the ‘Rap Doctor’ stated that he has the necessary requirements to win the award again.

He claimed that in order to remain competitive, a performer needed hits, an album or EP with at least three national hits, more performances, and more activations.

I will definitely win another Artiste of the Year award before I retire from the music industry just for my children and posterity’s sake,” Okyeame Kwame stated “It’s not such a difficult feat, you only have to get hits, create an album or an ep, you can win with a single but it’s advisable to submit an album which has at least 3 songs that are national hits, play more shows and more activations which can help you to become relevant”

Okyeame Kwame also recounted his experience of winning the award in 2009 against the Praye hiplife duo, which he described as a great feeling. He also shared his knowledge of the VGMA nomination and selection process, emphasizing that popular votes may not always guarantee an artiste’s victory.

During my time it was brutal, it was between myself and Praye. They had ‘Angelina’ and I had ‘Wo So’. We had each received 4 awards and the award to break the tie was the AOTY. It wasn’t easy. It was unbelievable and a great feeling,” he recounted

“You can win the popular votes but the Academy and Board may go against you and that could affect your chances of winning the ultimate because of the voting guidelines,” he said.
