Ghanaian media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has criticised authorities over the repeated failure to find a lasting solution to the country’s flooding crisis.
The broadcaster questioned why the same pattern continues every rainy season, with major flooding incidents followed by public concern, promises of action, and little visible change despite the formation of committees and task forces meant to tackle the problem.
In a series of posts on X on June 29, 2026, Nana Aba directed her comments at Greater Accra Regional Minister Linda Akweley, asking how she felt after another wave of destructive floods caused by heavy rainfall.
“How do you feel this morning @HonLindaAkweley?” she wrote.
She also referenced the anti-flood task force established the previous year, questioning whether such interventions had produced meaningful results.
“An anti-flood task force was inaugurated last year,” she said in another post.

Nana Aba argued that the response to flooding has become predictable, with attention fading once the rains subside only for the crisis to return the following season.
“Same script every year. The rains end, everyone resets to factory settings and we reconvene next rainy season for another round of outrage,” she wrote.
Her comments reflect wider frustrations over Ghana’s ongoing flood challenges, with critics pointing to issues including inadequate drainage systems, construction on waterways, and weak urban planning as major factors leaving many communities exposed whenever heavy rains hit.
