Popular Ghanaian Comedian, OB Amponsah has spoken against comparisons made about comedians in the country and their Nigerian counterparts.

In a post sighted by Zionfelix.net, OB, known in private life as Amponsah Obarima Akuoko, stressed that it is needless for people to think that Ghanaian comedians are not working hard after they have watched short skits on Tik Tok and Instagram from Nigerians.

He elucidated that every comedian has their fort and how they create their contents.

OB also questioned the number of skirts that these critics have seen from popular Nigerian standup comedians like Okey Bakasi, I go Die, Acapella, Bovi and others.

He wrote: “Every comedian has their fort. It’s quite unfair when you compare Instagram and Tiktok skit makers to Standup comedians and conclude that Nigerian comedians are working a lot harder than Ghanaian comedians.

“I personally follow Sydney Talker, Taoma, Made in Ghana, SDK, Nasty Blaq, Jackline Mensah and their likes because they produce awesome content online. Give them a microphone to perform to a live audience and they may be uncomfortable.”

He added in his post on Facebook: “How many skits have you seen from Okey Bakasi, I go Die, Acapella, Bovi and other Nigerian stand up comedians?

“Regardless, we all produce content on social media. Some comedians would communicate theirs via videos, others via texts. So don’t go laugh at a video content on IG, and because you didn’t see a Ghanaian comic’s content, arrive at the conclusion that we are not working. Herrrh, I average 10 Facebook posts per day. 6 out of 10 times they are funny. The other 4 times, they are to stir the beautiful emotions of party footsoldiers. Comparisons in my opinion are needless, but if you would, kindly pay attention to your metrics. Stop comparing apples with oranges, Stella Mawulorm.”
